K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Crematory, JacksonvilleK. L. Brown Funeral Home came into existence in 1978 when Koven L. (K.L.) Brown purchased Roebuck-Greenlawn Mortuary from Sammie F. Bryant. In 1994, a crematory was added. After an electrical fire destroyed the crematory in 2001 the cremation center was built that same year. It provided and continues to provide families with the option of local, onsite cremations as well as a multipurpose room for gatherings.
In March 2018, an EF-3 tornado tore through Jacksonville leaving the community and the Funeral Home with extensive damage. The Funeral Home was forced to temporarily close and the staff and operations were relocated to the Anniston location. The rebuild was completed in June of 2019. While the exterior looks the same as it did prior to the tornado, there have been many updates to the interior.
